Dratis was founded by an engineer with 30 years experience in high tech.

The last 10 years of his career were spent as a contractor, where he found an unexpected and harsh reality.

He found:

• Conflicts of interest in the recruiting model where the hourly rate depends on the recruiter's markup instead of the contractor's skills or the client's budget
• Missed opportunities because his hourly rate conflicted with the recruiter's markup and revenue target
• Restrictive agreements with non-compete clauses and blackout periods
• Recruiters who demanded exclusive access to clients, not allowing contractors to contact the client themselves or through another firm
• Unscrupulous recruiters who contacted contractors about phony jobs simply to get the contractor's resume
• A system designed to benefit the recruiter, not the contractor or client.

Dratis was born from the conviction that there is a better way to do business.
